Heroic Teen Saves Drowning Friend

A 17-year-old is a hero Monday night after rescuing his friend from dangerous waters.

JT Hart, 17, was swimming with his friend, 17-year-old Ronnie White, in the Cumberland River when his friend under.

He said, “We were swimming, jumping off the tower and we decided we were going to swim across and sure enough, he started going under. I heard him yell for help, I was almost to the shore and swam back and go him and pulled him to shore, sort of."

It was dangerous.

Hart said, “He pulled me under a few times and I hooked him under my arm… swam to shore and called police."
